Thunder Road Deadline extended by two weeks

Taken from the official Thunder Road Facebook:

The last two months have been a complete whirlwind and so much has been accomplished. The work, commitment, dedication, and endless sweat equity put towards getting our film off the ground has been quite an extraordinary journey for us all. It takes a village….and what a mighty village we have in our THUNDER ROAD family. We are reminded of a beautiful quote from President Kennedy….”We need men who dream of things that never were…”.

We are excited to announce that Indiegogo has extended our goal deadline by 2 additional weeks beginning Sunday at 11:59pm. This will accommodate some of our larger donors that have recently come on board to make their contributions. We are so honored and humbled by the support and encouragement from everyone who has so generously contributed their hard earned dollar to the making of this film.

We were recently sent a commencement speech that moved us to a new level of life, wisdom, thoughtfulness, and understanding. We’ve copied the final remarks below.

“As accolades ought to be, the fulfilled life is a consequence, a gratifying byproduct. It’s what happens when you’re thinking about more important things. Climb the mountain not to plant your flag, but to embrace the challenge, enjoy the air and behold the view. Climb it so you can see the world, not so the world can see you. Go to Paris to be in Paris, not to cross it off your list and congratulate yourself for being worldly. Exercise free will and creative, independent thought not for the satisfactions they will bring you, but for the good they will do others, the rest of the 6.8 billion-and those who will follow them. And then you too will discover the great and curious truth of the human experience is that selflessness is the best thing you can do for yourself. The sweetest joys of life, then, come only with the recognition that you’re not special…because we all are.”

We’ve always known that we were the underdog and this might be the greatest comeback story for a campaign in crowd funding history.

Never give up. Ever.

Our Thanks,

Steven, Matt & Charlie
